# The worked examples

These files show what each document of the specification-driven method looks like when it is filled in, using Progressa, the fictional country used across these knowledge products. They form one story: Progressa's quality authority for higher education, PHEQA, and its ministry of education, MoEYS, commission two applications so that a private institution gives its particulars to the state once. The first file fixes the facts every example uses. The others follow this course's subtopics in order: module 1 shows why services go wrong and the twelve documents that prevent it; module 2 shows the documents written before any design; module 3 shows one goal, *apply for a provisional licence*, designed in full and reviewed; module 4 shows the whole application settled once and described for the machine; module 5 shows the two applications as they will be generated, with the ministry reading the register across the data interface; module 6 shows a change of an institution's name, the trace report and the digital credential as the next service.

The examples are written for the manager who commissions a service, judges the supplier and convenes the review. Each one ends with what to look for before accepting the document it shows.

**How the files link.** Register entries carry identifiers `R-…` (E2.2, E2.4, E3.1), goals `G-…` (E2.4), screens `S…` (E3.3, E3.5, E3.6) and crossings `X-…` (E2.6). The goal *apply for a provisional licence* is G-01 in E2.4 and is written out in full in E3.1 to E3.6.

**Modules 4 to 6.** Their examples are carried by the scripts of their modules, and are taken from there as they stand, in the form of the examples of modules 1 to 3, by the program that renders the course guide. They are not edited in this folder: a correction is made in the module's script, and the file is written again.

**The figures.** Every figure, date and article number about Progressa is invented. Figures from public sources are quoted with their source.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://experience-digital-transform.gitbook.io/experience-digital-transformation/building-block/the-worked-examples.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
